Once players decide to play the game after logging in, they are asked to create a custom avatar that they will use to roam San Paro.
Factions
Every player who starts APB for the first time will need to create their character. First, the player will choose what side they will play on. They have two choices:
Each has their advantages and disadvantages, which is noted on their respective pages. After choosing their side, the player will be asked what server they want to play on. The options are:
- Colby NA - US West
- Joker NA - US East
- Patriot EU
- Obeya EU
Note that NA stands for North America and EU stands for the European Union.
Customizing Characters and Beginning
Immediately after choosing a server the player will be allowed to customize their avatar. Here the player can choose from a quick and simple set of options like gender, skin tone, age and body shape. There is also an additional option to go more advanced so that the player can change the more intricate details of their character, like hair style, scars, and muscle tone. Once the player has finished creating their character they will be asked if they want to go through the Tutorial District, or to be put straight into the game.
