Joker Gunworks

San Paro's most notorious home-grown weapon manufacturer and champion of the right to bear arms. According to the company, Joker Gunworks was formed in 1977 to meet increasing demand from consumers. Famous for their tag line - "Who's laughing now?" over half of the gun homicides between April 2005 and September 2007 in San Paro were committed with their powerful and compact handguns. The SPPD have lobbied unsuccessfully to have their Midtown works shut down, or its output more carefully licensed, but Joker continues to avoid censure, leading to suspicions of corporate or governmental interference. Many of their weapons reaching the streets cannot be accounted for through legitimate sales.
